Liguria

Liguria is a coastal region in northwestern Italy, the third smallest of the Italian regions. It is bordered by France to the west, Piedmont to the north, and Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany to the east. The name Liguria dates back to pre-Roman times. Liguria is located on the Ligurian Sea (part of the Mediterranean Sea), of which the Gulf of Genoa is a part. The Ligurian coast or Ligurian Riviera is called the Riviera di Levante east of Genoa, and the Riviera di Ponente west of Genoa. The part from the municipality of Andora to the French border is known to tourists as the Riviera dei Fiori.
