Stylish interior in Liguria – Myrna Interior project

Are you looking for an interior that exudes peace, warmth and character? Then our project in Liguria is a great example of what we can do for you. At Myrna Interior we combine your wishes with a well-considered approach. Here you can read how we transformed an authentic Italian house into an atmospheric and functional home.

Our approach

We started with an existing house full of character: high ceilings, wooden beams and old elements. We deliberately retained these authentic details. At the same time, we created a fresh, light look by choosing soft colours, lots of daylight and natural materials.

Colour and material choice

The base is calm: cream, sand and light grey on the walls, combined with light oak on the floors. Linen curtains, jute rugs and ceramic accessories make the whole thing warm and natural. This use of colour creates space and tranquility – perfect for Mediterranean living.

Functional and atmospheric

Each room is practically laid out without sacrificing atmosphere. The open kitchen flows into a cosy sitting area with low benches and lots of cushions. A large wooden dining table invites you to long evenings with family and friends. The interior is comfortable, but also stylish and personal.

Styling that works

We worked with local art, natural decoration and subtle textures. Think of wicker baskets, plants, linen fabrics and warm lighting. Everything contributes to a house where you immediately feel at home. No excess, but balance and unity.

What it yielded

  • A light and peaceful atmosphere through smart colour and material choices.
  • Authenticity while retaining original details.
  • Functional layout that suits daily life and relaxation.
  • A unique style that reflects the character of the residents.

Your interior, our care

This project in Liguria shows what is possible when style, functionality and feeling come together. At Myrna Interior we listen carefully to what you need, and translate that into an interior that is right – from atmosphere to layout.

Interior project New Babylon, Anna van Buerenplein

In the heart of The Hague, close to Central Station, lies the imposing New Babylon Park Tower. We were asked to tackle a chic apartment on the Park Tower. We first painted the apartment and then styled it with stylish furniture and accessories. The result is a fresh, modern and inviting interior that immediately appeals to visitors.

Our choices and approach

  • Neutral base colours: We opted for calm white and soft grey tones on the walls. This keeps the light at a maximum and shows off the furniture and accessories to their best advantage.
  • Strategic painting: All walls and ceilings were first thoroughly touched up and finished neatly. This makes the space look professional and well-maintained.
  • Selection of furniture: Modern and comfortable furniture with sleek lines. Think of sleek designer chairs, a neutral sofa and matching coffee table. This way there is a balance between functionality and aesthetics.
  • Accessories and styling: We added plants, cushions, rugs and subtle wall decoration. These elements make a space more cozy and visually attractive.

Working method in a few steps

  1. Inventory: We started with an intake with the customer to map out wishes and desired atmosphere.
  2. Concept development: Mood boards and color proposals created, tailored to the architecture of the New Babylon Tower.
  3. Painting: Execution by professional painters, with attention to clean edges and even coverage.
  4. Furniture selection & delivery: Furniture selected that fits the space and then placed.
  5. Styling & fine-tuning: Decorative styling with accessories, plants and personal details.
  6. Delivery: Together with the customer we checked whether everything was to our liking. Then professional photo styling to capture the end result.

What it yielded

The end result is a fresh-looking, light and atmospheric interior. For potential buyers or tenants, it immediately feels like home. The neutral colours and high-quality furniture have kept the space timeless and stylish. The styling increases recognisability and appeal, which significantly increases the chance of sale or rental.

Why this approach works

Our choice of neutral tones and sleek furniture ensures that a wide audience feels at home. The styling creates atmosphere without being overwhelming. Moreover, the approach is efficient: painting lays the foundation, furniture choice gives shape and accessories make it personal.

A fresh new house on Van Drenkwaertstraat

You enter a beautiful home on Van Drenkwaertstraat, a quiet and chic street in Benoordenhout, The Hague. What we have done here is truly special. We have literally and figuratively transformed the house with a metamorphosis.

Space, light and atmosphere

As soon as you enter, you notice the large amount of daylight. Thanks to the clever layout and the use of light colours, the house immediately feels spacious and bright. The natural tones fit perfectly with the character of the neighbourhood, without looking cold. During the day you can fully enjoy the sunlight, in the evening the lighting provides a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Natural materials, fine structure

You see natural materials everywhere in the house. Wooden floors and furniture provide warmth. In a bedroom or living room, this fine contrast is extra pleasant: robust, but subtle. This choice provides peace and at the same time a sense of quality.

Smart layout for practical convenience

The floor plan is cleverly laid out: from the spacious hall to the living and sleeping areas. This gives you a clear functional flow. Attention is paid to good passages, storage is logically thought out and the circulation through the house feels natural. Everything is in its place, without wasting space.

Stylish accents

We added subtle, but smart accents: A wall with structure, a suitable work of art or a striking lamp. These details give the house personality, but remain calm in your experience. It is never too exaggerated, but always well thought out.

Balance between peace and character

During the day it is an oasis of peace: soft colours, neutral materials, light curtains. In the evening, or in an atmospheric corner, that calmness does not disappear: the accents remain, with a nod to Glamour and Cosy vibes. This house shows that you can live stylishly and comfortably.

A home that suits you

It is your home: Personal, warm, well thought out. Myrna Interior did this in a way that focuses on your wishes. Not just a makeover, but a future-proof interior that you will continue to appreciate day after day.

Why we think this project was a success

  • Connection with the neighbourhood: The chosen materials and colours match the chic street and the surroundings.
  • Light and sense of space: The use of daylight and open sight lines increase living comfort.
  • Smart design: Each room has a clear function and is future-oriented.
  • Aesthetics with a purpose: What is beautiful is also practical.

Your new home?

Do you also dream of experiencing your home like this? Then this project is a wonderful example. It shows how you can turn an ordinary home into something special, without frills, but with style. Thanks to attention to light, material and design, this interior is not only beautiful, but also pleasant to use on a daily basis.

Why buying a (second) home in Italy is a smart choice

Do you secretly dream of waking up with a view of olive trees, vineyards or the Mediterranean Sea? Then a (second) home in Italy might be exactly what you are looking for. More and more Dutch people are choosing to buy a home in this beautiful country. In this blog you can read why that is such a good idea.

1. Life is more relaxed

In Italy, life is all about enjoying. The food, the weather, the people and the moment. The Italian lifestyle – also called la dolce vita – really helps you to relax. No rush, less stress and more attention for what is really important. Ideal as a holiday home, but also as a permanent place to live when you are ready for some rest.

2. Affordable homes (especially outside the big cities)

You don’t have to be a millionaire to buy a house in Italy. In some regions, especially in the south and inland, houses are surprisingly affordable. You can buy a charming little house for a relatively small budget – often with a garden and a view. And yes, there are even villages where you can symbolically buy a house for €1 (although of course there are conditions attached).

3. Smart investment

A house in Italy is also a smart investment. You can rent it out to tourists when you are not there yourself. Italy is a popular holiday destination all year round. With platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com, renting is easy and easy to manage, even remotely.

4. A second home in the sun

Whether you like sun and sea, mountains, culture or gastronomy – Italy has it all. You will find countless beautiful places to live or spend your holidays. Think of Tuscany, Umbria, Sicily or the Italian lakes. You will always have a place where you can completely unwind.

5. Culture, nature and delicious food

Italy is known for its rich history, impressive architecture and world-famous cuisine. Each region has its own charm. Whether you like Roman ruins, picturesque villages, fresh pasta or a good glass of wine – in Italy you will not miss anything.

6. Making interior dreams come true

At Myrna Interior we are happy to help you turn your Italian home into a real home. With a stylish interior that fits in with the surroundings and completely meets your wishes. Whether it concerns a modern holiday apartment or a rural farmhouse: we think along with you.

Dreaming of a house in Italy? Discover why Liguria is so perfect!

Imagine: A house with a sea view, fragrant pine trees in the garden, and a fresh croissant every morning from the local bakery. Sounds like a dream? In Liguria, a beautiful coastal region in the northwest of Italy, this dream could easily become reality. More and more Dutch people are choosing to buy a second home in this region. Why? Read here – and how the new service from Myrna Interior guides you from A to Z in finding and furnishing your dream place.

Why Liguria?

Liguria is located on the Italian Riviera, between France and Tuscany. You will find colorful villages such as Portofino and Cinque Terre, but also quiet, green hills with a view of the sea. What makes Liguria so attractive to the Dutch:

  • Close to home: You can drive there in about 12 hours by car, or you can fly to Genoa or Nice in a few hours.
  • Mild climate: The winters are mild and the summers are warm, but not too hot. Perfect for those who want to escape the Dutch weather.
  • Authentic and charming: Liguria has not yet been overrun by mass tourism. You can taste the real Italy there: local markets, fresh pasta and wine from small family businesses.
  • Affordable houses: Compared to Tuscany or the Amalfi Coast, house prices in Liguria are often more favorable. Especially when you look at villages a little further from the coast.

Not just a holiday destination

Many Dutch people use their house in Liguria as a second home. A place to spend the winter, to spend the summer holidays with the family, or to rent out as an investment. The combination of peace, nature and Italian charm makes Liguria ideal for those who love la dolce vita.

Need help? Myrna Interior is here for you

Buying a house in Italy sounds great, but it can also be overwhelming. Where do you start? How do you find a reliable house? What are the Italian regulations, taxes and renovations involved?

That is why Myrna Interior is launching a new full-service guidance for Dutch people who want to buy a house in Liguria. Myrna helps you step by step:

  1. Custom search service: You tell us your wishes (location, budget, style), and Myrna searches for suitable houses via reliable real estate agents in Italy.
  2. Guidance during purchase: From viewing to paperwork – Myrna works with local experts who speak Dutch or English.
  3. Interior advice and styling: Has the house been purchased? Then Myrna takes care of the interior design – in your style, with local materials and professionals.
  4. Garden and terrace design: Thinking of an outdoor kitchen, swimming pool or pergola? That’s also possible!

This way, your Italian adventure won’t be a stressful project, but a pleasant journey of discovery.

Conclusion

A (second) home in Liguria is not only an investment in stone, but especially in quality of life. For Dutch people who love sun, nature and Italian enjoyment, this is a hidden gem. And with our new service, your dream home in Italy will really become a reality, without any hassle.

Sell your home faster and better? Discover home staging!

You’ve decided to sell your house. Exciting! But how do you make sure your home stands out from all the other houses on Funda? How do you attract the right buyers – and quickly? That’s where home staging comes in. At Myrna Interior we help people every day to present their home as attractively as possible. In this blog I answer the five most frequently asked questions about home staging – clearly, practically and honestly.

What is home staging and why is it important?

Home staging is the smart way to furnish your home before selling it. No major renovations, but small adjustments that make a big difference. Think of neutral colours, a tidy space, the right accessories and furniture in the right place. Why is it so important? People buy with their feelings. If your home immediately gives off a warm, well-kept and spacious feeling, there is a greater chance that a buyer will fall in love – and make an offer more quickly.

What does home staging cost on average?

Many people think that home staging is expensive, but that is often not the case. At Myrna Interior we offer home staging from €295. Depending on the size of your home and your wishes, the costs can increase slightly. But see it as an investment: a well-styled home sells faster and often for a better price. And you can usually easily get that amount back.

How much faster does a home sell with home staging?

Research shows that a styled home sells on average twice as fast as a non-styled home. We at Myrna Interior also notice this in practice. Some homes are under offer within a week – purely because they are presented so well. People don’t have to imagine how it ‘could be’ as much. They can just see it in front of them.

Can I do home staging myself or should I hire a professional?

Of course you can do it yourself – and at \[yl\_blog\_name] we are happy to help you with free tips or a checklist. But a professional eye often sees the things that you overlook: the excess of personal belongings, the wrong lamp on the table, or the messy impression of a room. The difference is in the details. And that can mean the difference between a sale or not.

What are the most important tips for home staging?

Here are a few golden tips that we always give:

  • Declutter – less really is more
  • Neutralise – choose soft, neutral tones
  • Light is everything – turn on lamps, open curtains
  • Add atmosphere – think cushions, plants and candles
  • Let spaces show their function – not a junk room, but a study or guest room

Do you also want your home to be cleaned faster? sells, and for a better price? Let Myrna Interior help you with her expertise! Feel free to contact and we will see together how we can make your home irresistible.

Why it is wise to hire an interior stylist when (re)decorating your home

Are you about to redecorate your house or a specific space? Or have you just moved and really want to make your house a home? Then this is the time to seriously consider hiring an interior styling agency. You may be thinking: “Can’t I just do it myself?” Of course you can, but read on. You will notice that hiring a professional really has many advantages.

A fresh look from the outside

You have been living in your house for years, or you have just moved into a new-build home. In both cases, you probably already have ideas in mind. But precisely because you are so close to it, you may no longer see certain possibilities. An interior stylist looks at the space with a fresh look. She or he sees opportunities and combinations that you may never have thought of.

Saves time, money and frustration

You may think that a stylist only entails extra costs. But did you know that a good interior plan can actually save money? How often do people buy furniture that doesn’t fit properly, or paint that suddenly turns out completely different on the wall than on the sample?

An interior stylist helps you make well-considered choices. No more bad purchases. No more endless moving around of furniture. No stress. Everything just fits. And that ultimately saves time, money and frustration.

You get a house that really suits you

A good stylist listens to you. To your wishes, your lifestyle, your taste. They don’t turn your house into a showroom, but ensure an interior that is personal and functional. Something that fits with how you live, work and relax. And that’s exactly what you want, right?

Practical help from A to Z

You don’t have to do it all by yourself. An interior styling agency will help you step by step:

  • Creating a mood board or colour plan
  • Layout advice for your furniture
  • Advice on lighting, accessories and materials
  • Shopping for the right furniture and decoration
  • Sometimes even the complete styling and finishing

This way you are in control, but you don’t have to think of and arrange everything yourself. How nice is that?

The result? An interior that makes you happy

An interior stylist knows how to make a space shine. How to create atmosphere and tranquility. How to create balance between colours, shapes and materials. The result is a place where you come home to every day with pleasure. And that’s worth gold, isn’t it?

So… why wait?

If you’re going to redecorate soon, give yourself that extra push in the right direction. Hire us. You’ll see: It really makes the difference between ‘just beautiful’ and ‘wow, this is exactly what I wanted!’

Interior design in the Netherlands and Italy, differences and similarities

Do you dream of a stylish interior with international allure? Then it is interesting to look at how interior design in the Netherlands and Italy compare. At Myrna Interior we have a passion for combining styles, cultures and functionality and that makes this comparison extra inspiring. Especially now that we are taking the first steps to become active in Italy!

The Dutch interior style

In the Netherlands, interior design is mainly about functionality, light and minimalism. Think of open spaces, smart storage solutions and a neutral color palette. The influence of Scandinavian design is noticeable, with natural materials such as wood and linen. A typical Dutch interior feels calm, is uncluttered and focused on comfort.

The Italian interior style

Italy, on the other hand, is known for its elegance, expression and luxury. Here you see more warm colors, rich textures and a mix of modern design classics with historical elements. Interior design in Italy tells a story: from marble floors to ornate chandeliers and world-class designer furniture. Aesthetics are at least as important as functionality.

Similarities that connect

Yet there are also striking similarities between both styles:

  • Eye for detail: Both Dutch and Italian designers pay a lot of attention to finishing and harmony in the whole.
  • Sustainability: Reuse of materials, quality and timelessness are growing trends in both countries.
  • Personality: In both cultures you see that interior design is increasingly a reflection of the person who lives there.

Myrna Interior goes international

We are proud to announce that Myrna Interior is preparing to become active in Italy as well. Our experience in the Netherlands, combined with our love for the Italian flair, allows us to design unique and balanced interiors for international clients.

Freshen up your interior for the summer

The sun is showing itself more often, the days are getting longer and the temperature is rising. Summer is just around the corner and that means only one thing: time to give your interior a fresh summer update! Whether you prefer a beach vibe, botanical influences or a light, minimalist style – with a few smart adjustments you can bring that wonderful summer feeling inside. And believe us: your home will thank you.

Why you adapt your interior to the season

Just like you adapt your wardrobe to the seasons, your interior also deserves a similar switch. Summer means light, air and liveliness. By making some small changes, your home not only feels fresher, but you also boost your energy. And that is exactly what we want in the summer!

How to do it – practical tips

You really don’t have to change your entire interior right away. With these simple tips you can go a long way:

  • Go for light fabrics: Replace heavy curtains and plaids with airy linen or cotton varieties. Think of white or pastel colours to let in the light optimally.
  • Refresh your accessories: Swap dark cushions and candles for accessories in summer colours such as coral, turquoise or sand tones. A new rug can also do wonders.
  • Bring nature inside: Put out fresh flowers or choose green plants such as ferns, monsteras or palms. They purify the air and immediately create a summery atmosphere.
  • Give your walls an update: A fresh lick of paint in a light shade or adding a summery print (think shells, leaves or tropical birds) makes a world of difference.
  • Create a summery scent experience: Think of scented candles or diffusers with citrus, coconut or lavender – for that instant holiday vibe in your own home.

Be inspired and surprised

Do you not feel like or have the time to figure it all out yourself? Or do you just want to make sure that everything is nicely coordinated? Then we at Myrna Interior are of course happy to help you! With our experience in interior design and styling, we ensure that your home is completely summer-ready – tailored to your personal style and wishes.

Whether it concerns rearranging your living room, choosing the right colour combinations or putting together a complete summer makeover: we think along with you and surprise you with creative solutions that you may not have thought of yourself.

Ready for summer?

With a few smart adjustments, you can bring that summer energy into your interior. But if you really want to get the most out of it, then hiring an expert is not an unnecessary luxury. Let us help you turn your home into a summer paradise where you would love to stay all year round. Get in touch with us and discover what we can do for you!

All this information forms the basis for an interior that really suits you.

Step 2: Gathering inspiration

A beautiful interior design is one thing, but styling makes it complete.
